Finally Alive by John Piper

I was pleasantly surprised by this new read from John Piper. Being from Minnesota, I've had the privilege of hearing John Piper preach on Sunday mornings. I always loved his sermons and hoping I would also love this book. I thought Piper did a great job making it crystal clear what being born again really means. The world has a very skewed perception of what "born again" is -- even people who call themselves Christians. Piper talks a lot about the new birth and how it's nothing we can do that will cause us to be born again.

I felt extremely challenged intellectually when I was reading this book. I had to read only one or two chapters at a time, because I felt like otherwise my brain would go on overload! There was a lot of information to process and I really enjoyed how much it made me think. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book to basically anyone at any stage in life. New Christians, those seeking God, people who have been walking with God for a lifetime. There's plenty for anyone to learn and absorb from this book.
